Paralegal Regulation

With the passage of the Access to Justice Act, 2006, paralegals are now regulated by the Law Society of Upper Canada.

As a paralegal is a regulated professional they must have a licence registered with the Law Society of Upper Canada, as well as “errors and omissions” insurance.

In addition, paralegals must adhere to a code of professional conduct and are the subject to discipline for breach thereof.
Effective July 1, 2010, only those paralegals graduating from an accredited paralegal program in Ontario are eligible to enter the licensing process as a paralegal candidate.

Psychological Studies on Shoplifting and Kleptomania
Shoplifting is clearly a psychological issue for many people. It’s about people struggling with their own personal conflicts and needs.

Statutory Accident Benefits Coverage is provided by law under insurance policies in Ontario. The regulations (Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule or SABS) are provincially mandated: therefore,
the coverage provided is standard across the Province.

Statutory Accident Benefits provide compensation, regardless of fault, if the driver, passengers, or pedestrians suffer injury or death resulting from an automobile accident.

An accident involving injury or property damage must be reported within 7 days; otherwise, your insurance company may not honor the claim.

It is important to note that if accident is involved with a vehicle from outside Ontario, accident benefit coverage does not apply unless the insurer of the out-of-province vehicle has signed an agreement with Ontario.
